Horse-riding

Any season and any weather is good if you want to ride a horse. The Augustów Forest offers unforgettable experiences, impossible to come across in most European countries.

The Augustów Forest and Mazury horse trail consists of a number of paths and roads with a total length of approximately 400 km for horseback riding. Provided terrain conditions allow horse-drawn carriages. Most of the route around Augustów consists of forest paths allowing galloping, and a 400-meter water crossing through Sajno Lake leaves an unforgettable impression on every rider.

 

Route: from the Lipniak forester's lodge in the Wigry National Park (north of Suwałki) through the Forestries of: Suwałki, Szczebra, Płaska, Augustów, Biebrza National Park, Rajgród, Ełk, and Drygały, to Orzysz Lake. Side branches will take you to such charming places as the Kurzyniec lock on the Polish-Belarussian border or the Grzędy Range in the Biebrza Park.

 

Prices: Rides on longe line 25 PLN / 30 min., riding arena 40 PLN / 60 min., free-range riding 40 PLN / 90 min.

 

Horse-riding events

The Augustów Equestrian Rally is an event that lasts for several days and has been permanently etched into the calendar of attractions in Augustów. It has been organized in September for several years.

Along the Course of the Augustów Canal – the event has been organized by the Augustów Tourist Organization since 2014. It consists of kayaking, bike riding, equestrian rally and cross-country rally organized in June along the Augustów Canal.
